Material processing engineering is one of the two disciplines of material science and engineering. It is an applied technology discipline that studies the external shape, internal structure and performance of materials, and materials plus engineering control. Material processing engineering is a kind of engineering technology that transforms raw materials and raw materials (sometimes adding additives, additives or modified materials) into practical materials or products. At present, more and more scholars in China refer to polymer processing. It can be divided into metal material processing engineering and non-metal material processing engineering.

The material processing engineering specializes in cultivating advanced engineering technicians engaged in the design and manufacture of the molding equipment and mould of the polymer material products and the research and development of the new polymer materials. The major students mainly study the basic theory of polymer chemistry and physics, the composition, structure and performance knowledge of polymer materials, and the knowledge of polymer forming and processing technology.
